| Brothers
of Alpha Lambda,
Thanks for taking time to look the the website. Hopefully you can use this resource as well as our newsletters, Alumni Guestbook and special events to rekindle your bond with the fraternity, brothers that you knew and also grow new relationships in the future by meeting our newest associates. The purpose of our alumni association since being started in October 1996 has been to "keepsafe" the traditions and information which keeps the bonds strong after college and through the years. We had almost lost what took 50 years to build. Since that October we have taken great strides to not only strengthen what we already have, but to create new traditions. The most important of these being rebuilding and communication within the organization. We live in a time where communication is as simple as a fax, postal or e-mail. At first just making calls was simple and I found about all that I could find with the addresses we had available. Now I'm having to look under nooks and crannies to find you. The web site has opened a doorway to you finding us and has put me in contact with many of you. While your board of directors and dedicated associates that run the association all do an incredible job, it takes more than that. It takes your commitment to the brotherhood. I know that the four years (and for some it was more) spent in college were the play years. However, deep down you remember what the fraternity meant to you. Each and everyone that I have had the pleasure to talk to has had the same feelings. Be it age or the eternal prick we all endured, we lived in it. No one can take away the experience of those years and the bonding that made us who we are today. We need your help and now I am asking for it. We have survived for over two years on the donations and support of a handful of alumni. The alumni association cannot be a burden on your lifestyle so what I ask of you is the following: Send in money, go to Homecoming, send in news, addresses or photos to the newsletter, call the associate class - just get involved! We have a few brothers who have done well and had the good fortune shine upon them. Each of us has the ability and riches to inspire the younger associates and alumni to see what they have accomplished in life. We need some type of involvement from you. Please, dig in the old pictures, clothing and boxes. We need both financial and material support. Your help will help everyone. Finally, if you haven't figured it out yet, what I would like to say is: try to do your part, big or small, to make the alumni association part of your life. It is a very large and rewarding part of mine. Fraternally, Eric
